Our goal is to bring these desert roses’ vivid beauty into your life while providing you with the knowledge and tools you need to take care of them with ease. One blossom at a time, let us assist you in cultivating happiness!

Root rot

The primary causes of root rot include overwatering, using soil that retains too much moisture.Adeniums need a well-draining soil mix, and watering should be done sparingly, only when the soil is completely dry.

Tip rot

The main cause of tip rot is overwatering or water accumulation at the tips, especially during the rainy season or high humidity. Poor air circulation around the plant can also create a damp environment.

Bud drop

The most common cause of bud drop is inconsistent watering. Adeniums are drought-tolerant plants that require a “soak and dry” method — water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry.

Fungal infections

The primary cause of fungal infections in Adeniums is excess moisture. Overwatering, poor drainage, and high humidity create the perfect environment for fungi to thrive. Inadequate airflow around the plant, using contaminated tools or soil.

How to care adenium plants

Adeniums, commonly known as ‘Desert roses’, are beautiful succulent plants. They are native to Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, now commonly seen in India. Adeniums are popular houseplants and should be kept outdoors in warm climates.

Water

Adeniums are drought-tolerant plants and can go for long periods without water. Water them deeply once a week/once in three days during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduce watering during the dormant season (fall and winter). Make sure the soil is well-draining, as adeniums are susceptible to root rot.

Soil/Potting mix

Use a well-draining soil mix for your adeniums. Well drained soil+ Rice husk+ vermicompost/cow dung/goat manure or any other organic manure. Use any fungicide in the potting mix.

Fertilizer

Adeniums need regular fertilization during the growing season to promote healthy growth and flowering. Use a balanced fertilizer with a higher phosphorus content (Nitrogen rich in growing phase, DAP, 0:52:34 for flowering) every two weeks for frequent flowering and growth. NPK 19-19-19 can also be used.

Pruning

Adeniums can be pruned to control their shape and promote branching. Prune during the growing season to encourage new growth. January, February and March are the best months for pruning and grafting.

Pests and Diseases

Adeniums are susceptible to pests such as mealybugs, spider mites, and scale
insects. Check your plant regularly for signs of infestation and treat with an insecticidal soap or neem oil. Adeniums can also be affected by fungal attack. Diseases, such as powdery mildew and root rot, so make sure to keep the soil well-draining and avoid overwatering. In case of fungal infection use any available fungicide diluted with water.

Repoting

Repot adeniums every year or at least once in every two to three years or when the pot becomes too small. Use a slightly larger pot and fresh soil mix when repotting.

By following these tips and tricks, you can keep your adeniums healthy and thriving for years to come.If you like your experience, request you to repurchase and refer us to your friends.
